Activities
Formed to actively participate in multidisciplinary teams focused on evaluating environmental problems and proposing integral solutions to them. I have contributed to the development of Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) for the obtention of environmental permits and the funding of projects through international banking (i.e., IFC – WorldBank) for small and large port projects, port access channels, and capital and/or maintenance dredging.
Specific tasks within the ESIAs involved characterization of the abiotic environment based on primary and secondary information; EIA applying locally and internationally recognized methodologies (e.g., Conesa-Victoria). Finally, as an integral component of the Environmental Management Plan, I designed programs oriented to prevent, mitigate, or compensate the possible impacts derived from the projects, works, and/or activities. More specifically, I have designed monitoring programs for the assessment of marine water quality and sediments/dredged material.
