Data Management
- To plan,
participate, and lead mangrove field trips, where a forest inventory is carried
out: determination and maintenance of plots, measure of diameters and
estimation of heights, botanic identification, count of seedlings and
propagules at sub-plots, perform vegetation and land profiles, and measure of physical-chemical variables of the
water and soil, according to the project’s requirements.
- To scan and
analyze the mangrove data. This includes characterizing the composition and
structure of the tree community (importance value index, density, basal area,
and diametric distribution, among other indicators), and regeneration (density
of seedlings and propagules per species), and the physical-chemical
characterization of water and soil (average and extreme values of temperature,
salinity, electrical conductivity, and oxide-reduction potential at various
depths), as well as the multiannual changes assessment of each sub-component,
according to the project’s requirements. - Preparation of
technical reports and presentation on the mangrove, based on the results of
structure, natural and physical-chemical regeneration, both specific and
multiannual.
To
support other components at research cruises or various activities. Support to
processing water samples and fishing survey.
- Environment:
Field, laboratory and office work. High mountains, mangroves, flat lands,
deserts, hot and cold climate.
- Aptitudes: Personnel
management and coordination, research and public speaking. - Abilities:
Database management, mapping, topographic levelling for land profiles, profiles
drawing, planting evaluation, forest species arrangement designing, driving,
diving, simple and complex report writing, geodatabase generation, forest
zoning, plots establishment, trees, saplings and seedlings measurement, botanic
prosecution for herbarium and species identification, physical-chemical parameters measuring, secondary information research for environment characterization,
photographic interpretation, land cover classification, GPS management, and
biomass estimation. - Software:
Geographic Information System packages, Microsoft Office package, Statistics
packages, AutoCAD, CorelDraw.
English
I'm a Forest engineer with the capacity to understand and to manage the territory and the forests as from the regional as the local ambit; solid knowledge in forest inventory, cartography, forest planning, ecology, coastal ecosystems, environmental services and climate change. I have affinity and pleasure to field work, ability with the information processing and analysis, excellent writing skills of reports. I’m constantly interested on learning, researching, and applying of knowledge. Leadership, teamwork and interdisciplinary work Capacities. I am dedicated, responsible, aesthetic sense, creativity and requirement for the well done job.
