Activities
My Ph.D. research focused on marine bacteriophage-host systems. I concentrated on a system with a Vibrio parahaemolyticus and 200+ phages which infect it. Using this system I have studied temporal and spatial genetic diversity of marine viral isolates, ultraviolet radiation resistance studies, and attempted to quantify transduction of bacterial genes. I am currently an environmental microbiologist for the Federal Government. My laboratory works on the microbial ecology of both shallow and deep-sea corals.
