Russia; M.Sc. in Physics (Laser Optics) from the University of
Wisconsin, Milwaukee, U.S.A. and the Ph.D. degree in Geography (Physical
Oceanography) from the University of Manitoba, Canada. He is currently
employed as a Physical Scientist with the Fisheries and Oceans, Canada
at Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Centre in St. John’s, Newfoundland. His
current research interests include hydroacoustic fisheries stock
assessment surveys, ocean hydroacoustics, ocean optics, zooplankton
migration, internal tidal waves, physical oceanography, oceanographic
and meteorological instrumentation, community-based monitoring, ocean
modelling and observational synthesis.
