From March 2020, I am working for WWF Italy as Fisheries and Maritime Spatial Planning Expert. I am representing
WWF’s position during national consultation tables to ensure
that the ecosystem approach is integrated in the
development of maritime spatial management plans; I am also participating in
the development and implementation of WWF Italy's strategy on offshore wind,
acting as focal point for the
Mediterranean Marine Initiative of WWF on offshore
wind and maritime spatial planning issues
. I am the Project Manager, for Italy, of the MAVA NTZ MPA Project. I am the Project
Coordinator
of the SSF Project.

I worked from March 2020 to October
2021
on the IMPLEMED Project on the implementation of bottom trawling gears in
the Mediterranean; and from March 2020 to December 2020, I directly followed
the partnership with BOLTON Food on the sustainability of their supply of sardines
and small pelagic and related fisheries in Ecuador, Morocco, Croatia, Spain and
Italy.

I collaborated from January 2017
to April 2021
with
the Marine Institute of the National
Research Council
(CNR-ISMAR) of Venice, the University of Queensland and
the University IUAV of Venice on the publication of one scientific paper and a
report as a co-author about the activities and results obtained during my
consultancy in 2016 at the CNR-ISMAR of Venice.

From May
to December 2019
, I worked as Project Researcher
at the University Institute of ECOAQUA
(ULPCG) for the MarSP Project (Macaronesian Maritime Spatial Planning). I
involved key stakeholders (e.g. fishing sectors, diving centres, marine
heritage, off-shore windfarms and aquaculture) in the development of a maritime
spatial plan in the framework of the MarSP Project. I organised meeting and
workshops with the main maritime sectors, collecting different type of data
which were subsequently analysed and mapped. I also worked as the Operational Manager on the technical
proposal for a maritime spatial plan in the Exclusive Economic Zone of the
Canaries. During the project, I have mapped, for the first time in the
Canaries, all the small-scale fisheries activities in all the islands of the
archipelago.

From December
2017 to February 2019
,
I worked at seaExpert as Project
Coordinator
for the European ORFISH Project. Moreover, I actively participated in
experimental fishing activities, coordinating them in the all aspects,
including organization, monitoring and the construction of some fishing devices
(e.g. Moored FAD).

From August to November 2017,
I collaborated as the
main author with the University of the
Azores
on the publication of a scientific paper related to Maritime Spatial
Planning, marine biodiversity conservation and Systematic Conservation Planning
tools.

From May to December 2016, I worked with the Marine Institute
of the National Research Council of
Venice
, within the ADRIPLAN Project, as a consultant for the development of application of the tool MARXAN
and MARXAN with ZONES in the Adriatic-Ionian region, in the Adriatic region and
in the Emilia Romagna region.

From September to December 2015,
I did an internship at the DTU AQUA of Copenhagen focusing my work
on the design of a
network of Marine Protected Areas in the Kattegat Sea, considering the main
socio-economic activities within it.

From November 2013 to December
2015
, I have collaborated with Shoreline
Soc. COOP
on the connection n between the different fisheries activities
carried out in the Gulf of Trieste and the future implementation of the
2014-2020 EMFF (European Maritime and Fisheries Fund).

From May to August 2014, I did
an internship at the DTU AQUA of Copenhagen, where I partecipated in field work in sampling
programs related to investigating fish assemblages on rocky reefs at different
depths (RevFisk Project), as well as
field work aimed at investigating the importance of coastal marine habitats for
juvenile European eel (Sargasso-eel
Project
); I helped with the setting up and running of the laboratory
experiment with European eel. I also worked in the lab for the IMPAQ Project, a project about the
sustainability of the Danish marine aquaculture farms.

From May to August 2014, I
worked, as a member of
the Laguna Venexiana Onlus, on the EU
Project SERESTO (SEagrass
RESTOration - Habitat 1150 (coastal lagoon).

From January to September 2013,
I did an internship at Natural Marine Reserve of Miramare
(Italy), where I mainly focused on the management of Marine Protected Areas, the analysis
of anthropic pressure levels of fisheries and their repercussions on the Marine
Reserve's protection targets.

From December 2008 to September
2009
, I did an internship at Ca’ Foscari University, where I
analysed the effects of the fishing gear used to harvest Manila clam on the macro-benthic community of the
Lagoon of Venice.

Skills

I specialized on Ecosystem-Based Approach
on Maritime Spatial Planning, on the design of network of Marine Protected Areas
and/or No-Take Zones considering socioeconomic activities; as well as on the design
of new areas suitable for aquaculture.

I am working, since several years, with
Marine Protected Areas and fishers, following different fishing activities and
focusing on different aspects, from management to implementation of best
practises.

Since several years I am working on stakeholder’s engagement and
involvement, in particular with fishers.

For years I have been working on the sustainability of fisheries.

Offshore Wind Farms development in the contest of Ecosystem-Based Approach on Maritime Spatial Planning (EBA-MSP) and Nature protection.

I have an excellent knowledge of national and international directives, laws and regulations on environmental protection,  and about what concern the Maritime Spatial Planning Directive and Marine Strategy Framework Directive.
