Since 1982 professional experience in sea ice and oceanography within Roshydromet as a scientist and head of laboratory of the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute (AARI) and State Oceanographic Institute (GOIN) of Roshydromet. Expeditionary experience since 1980 in the Arctic and North Atlantic as oceanographer, ice observer, glaciologist on shipborne and North Pole drifting stations. Since 1992 involvement in the WMO CMM and JCOMM activities at different levels. Member of WMO GDSIDB Steering Group project since 1992 and chairman of JCOMM Expert Team on Sea Ice from 2001. Employed as WMO APP/OCA consultant in Jan-Apr 2005. Candidate of geographical sciences (PhD quivalent).
