“Exploitation of marine biological resources requires constant monitoring of the fisheries and natural factors impact on the used populations. Without the knowledge of these resources condition and a proper fishing management, it is easy to disturb the unstable biological balance and the possibility for the populations to regenerate. The National Marine Fisheries Research Institute’s job is to provide the scientific bases for rational exploitation of fish, to provide possibilities for the resources to regenerate naturally, to provide a stable level of life to the people who live off fishing and to maintain the natural heritage of the sea for the generations to come.
