The Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT) is an Institution of Technical Education which was established in 1997 through an Act of Parliament NO. 6. It is fully accredited by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) to offer technician and engineering programmes leading to the qualifications of National Technical Awards Levels 6 (Ordinary Diploma) and level 8 (Bachelor of Engineering) respectively. These programmes are competence based. The institute also offers various short courses in various engineering fields.
DIT is collaborating with KTH (The Royal Swedish Institute of Technology in ICT) and with Leeds Metropolitan University (Leeds met) in delivering a Masters degree in Facilities Management in Tanzania via e-Learning. Besides, the Institute is comprehensively networked with fibre optic cables and wireless hotspots.
Our ultimate goal is to transform our Institution to a World class Centre of Excellence in Engineering, Applied Sciences and Entrepreneurship. We believe that success comes out of the skilled hand and the innovated mind.
